If you follow me on Instagram (https://instagram.com/becoming_her_journey?utm_medium=copy_link), you probably know that, this week, my comput broke down and I lost every file and documents I had on it. I was extremely angry and frustrated at first, but I decided to make the best out of this accident.
The Accident
On that computer, I had my vision board, my plans, my ideas, and so much more. I never thought something like this could ever happen to me, so I never thought about saving my files elsewhere. Nonetheless, it happened, and I have to live with that reality.

That night, I realized how attached I was to everything. For example, my room was filled with old things I kept for the sake of keeping them. I still had all my books and manuals from elementary school to high school. I kept cloth I haven’t worn for years and shoes that no longer fit me. I filled my computer with thousands of files that I no longer needed.
Level-Up
All this thinking gave me the idea of decluttering my life. The next day I woke up, and right away, I started this ambitious mission. I spent about four days throwing away things I didn’t need.
It helped me in so many ways. I felt lighter and free from things I kept for a “just in case” that will never come. I got to go over souvenirs I kept. It liberated so much space in my room!

It helped me get over phases of my life I never realized I haven’t got over and gave me the idea of doing a room makeover. I’ve had the same room decor and placement since I was 13 or 14 years old, and this had to change if I wanted to get closer to the woman I wanted to become. You might think that it’s just a detail and that it doesn’t matter, but I believe in the power of visuals. Surrounding yourself with inspiring visuals is a great way to keep you going. I am now ready to take another step towards “Her.”
