Visualizing Your Future

Working on your life is not easy. Especially when you can’t see what is ahead and how things will turn out to be. You never really know how the tree will look like by just watering it.

Setting daily habits is going to lead you to good places. But it’s hard to imagine what those places look like or feel like. There are, however, some ways for you to visualize your goals and dreams.

No 1

The first one is to create a vision board. A vision board is a collection of pictures and images of things, places, or quotes that represents your goals and aspirations. For example, you can put a picture of your dream car or your dream vacation destination that you found in a magazine.

There are many different ways of doing vision boards. You can make a physical one or an digital one.

Physical Vision Board Example

For a physical one, here is all you will need: a big blank poster, a frame, scissors, glue, and magazines (or printed pictures). To make the vision board, you simply cut the images you want and create a collage of your dreams and goals.

I personally prefer the digital version because it’s easier to find the images you want. I simply collect images on Pinterest and Google, and I do a collage on apps like “Canvas.”

2nd Trick

The second way you can visualize your future is to write down in detail how and where you see yourself in 1, 3, or 5 years. Don’t only write down your goals like a checklist. Take one goal at a time and write everything about it: the end goal, the steps to take, the deadlines, the resources you need, etc. Write down what you visually see when you visualize yourself realizing that goal, and then repeat this process for your other goals.

Last But Not Least

The last visualization trick I’ll be sharing with you, for now, is to find YouTube channels, blogs, podcasts, or Instagram pages that inspire you to work on your goals. By doing all of these things, you stimulate your senses (listening, watching, reading) and encourage yourself to aim for these goals.
